Vector Driver Installation

Please ensure you have properly installed Vector drivers before using the device.

1.1 Getting the Driver

Local Access: Use the Vector Driver installer included in the product package.

Official Download: Visit the Vector website to download the latest driver for your hardware model.

1.2 Installation Steps

Launch Wizard

Run the installer and follow the prompts to click "Next".

Device Selection (Critical)

In the "Driver Selection" interface, please check the hardware models you own.

Tip

If you are unsure about the specific model, at least select the VN1610 series (highly versatile), then click Install.

Security Authorization

If Windows security prompts appear during installation, please always select "Install" or "Always trust".

Complete Installation

After the installation progress completes, click Close to exit.

1.3 Vector Driver Configuration

After installation, you may need to configure virtual channels according to your project requirements. Depending on the driver version, Vector provides two configuration tools. Please select the appropriate operation based on the tool name displayed in your Start menu:

Option A: Using Vector Hardware Config (Classic Version)

Suitable for early driver versions or classic interface users.

Enter Settings

Search and open "Vector Hardware Configuration" in the Windows Start menu.

Disconnect Virtual Channels

  1. Select Global Settings in the left tree panel
  2. Change the value of "Virtual channels connected" from YES to NO on the right

This operation allows the two virtual channels to work independently without interference.

Modify Virtual Channel Count

Find the virtual device path in the configuration interface and manually enter or select the required number of channels.

Note

You must restart your computer after modifying the count for changes to take effect.

Option B: Using Vector Hardware Manager (Modern Version)

Suitable for newer driver versions with a more intuitive interface.

Enter Settings

Search and open "Vector Hardware Manager" in the Windows Start menu.

Enter Driver Settings

Click the settings icon (Gear Icon) at the bottom left or in the sidebar, then select "Driver settings".

Channel Configuration

Independent Channels: In the driver settings page, find the virtual channel connection option and switch it to "OFF".

Modify Count: Directly modify the number of virtual devices in the same page.

💡 Configuration Tips

Why Disconnect Interconnection?

By default, virtual channels 1 and 2 are internally connected (for loopback testing). If you need to simulate two independent nodes, you must set it to NO or OFF.

Effective Conditions

For any changes involving "count (Number of Devices/Channels)", please save the configuration and restart the system.
